How can we help you

In today’s economic times, not every individual gets the opportunity to study and grow their skill set. Our Bursary programmes see us partnering with public providers from Universities and Universities of Technology (registered with DHET) to provide learners with full bursaries that allow them to complete formal qualifications. Through this, learners can change their lives through skills and education, going on to secure learnerships, internships or full-time employment.

At present, we are in the process of establishing parameters to issue bursaries to the “Missing Middle” as of 2019/2020 financial year.
Together with Universities and Universities of Technology (registered with DHET)) we hope to have this finalised as soon as possible.

Bursaries will be advertised, applicants will only be considered if they apply during this time. The qualifying criteria will be set out in the advertisement. Students that are accepted/registered to study at Public Higher education and training Institutions should apply.

Preference will be given to those that have enrolled for programmes that are aligned to the Scarce and Critical Skills of SASSETA Further preference will be given to the previously and financially disadvantaged, individuals living in rural areas, unemployed youth and people with disabilities.

Application forms will only be available on the website for downloading during the advertisement period. This will be placed on the website under Discretionary Grants Funding Window by means of a banner on the homepage that will link to the advertisement and the relevant application form.

Bursaries may/may not be advertised, however the advert should be published at least once a year. The respective employer should apply on behalf of the employed personnel. Government entities will not be required to apply but will need to ensure that they specify their need by completing and sending their expression of interest/stakeholder nominations of learning programmes on the SASSETA issue template for nominations by the end of November each year.
